COVID-19 Response

According to Reuter’s COVID-19 tracker, There have been 1,952,506 infections and 29,127 coronavirus-related deaths reported in Bangladesh since the pandemic began (25th April, 2022). From a peak of 13 thousand daily infections at the end of January and 174 deaths in August the trend has come down drastically. On 21st April, there were only 28 infections and zero deaths reported.

Bangladesh has administered at least 256,016,234 doses of COVID vaccines so far. Assuming every person needs 2 doses, that’s enough to have vaccinated about 78.5% of the country’s population.

DHEM Foundation conducted the following activities under the banner of COVID-19 awareness programs:

  • DHEM created awareness among the vulnerable community about hand washing and multi diversification methods of COVID-19
  • DHEM hung 35 awareness banners, 56 signboards, 1,400 awareness posters at crowded places like shops, market, bus stand, government offices
  • DHEM distributed 35,000 bars of soap among different communities
  • DHEM distributed 8,400 cloth based face masks
